ABOUT THE FOUNDER OF
URBAN REFUGE
Jennifer Cheung is a California board licensed acupuncturists and awarded Diplomat in Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She received her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Chicago prior to completing her TCM training through a four-year Masters program at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco. She continues to actively study with Joseph and Albert Chang, the founders of the “Original Yin School of Qigong.”
Jennifer is a skilled acupuncturist, a compassionate healer, and has a deep understanding of the patient experience. Jennifer is proud to be a breast cancer survivor. She sees her battle with cancer as a one-year intensive workshop on being a patient. Her own unique journey fused Western and Chinese medicine into a very powerful experience. She looks forward to helping others through their own paths to healing.
